Holy crap Batman! What I experienced yesterday during Usui Reiki Level 1 was so much different than what I experienced with Holy Fire II Reiki attunement. Let me explain.
First, lets discuss what Reiki is. There are some people that have never heard of Reiki. I was one of those people until a couple years ago. I explained my situation with Reiki in a previous blog post. If you didn’t read it, I suggest you take a look at it.
Reiki is a form of spiritual energy healing that was specialized by Mikao Usui in Japan. Usui took into consideration the healing that had taken place by people like Buddha, Jesus and many others that had records of miraculous healings and found that they all used their hands to do that healing. One misconception is that Reiki is related to the Christian faith. That is simply not true. His studies included history, medicine, Buddhism, Christianity, psychology, and Taoism.
When I was in the church, I went to many types of churches trying to find one that resonated with me. I was born into a family where my mother was Baptist and my father was raised Lutheran. I’ve got fond memories of that little Baptist church my mother used to take me to which I will share with you one day. We moved and I started going to a Lutheran church because my father insisted that he was raised Lutheran and that’s how his children were going to be raised. Lutheran was good in the aspect that it included chanting – lots of it from the hymn books. It also had strong discipline and I remember all the classes I had to take in order to be a member of the church. As I got older and graduated from high school, I was not able to attend that Lutheran church and because I did not transfer my membership, my membership was dissolved and I was not longer a “member”. After that, I lost my respect for the church and it put me on a path where I was then able to explore other religions. After that, I went to all types of churches including but not limited to Assembly of God, Pentecostal, Jesus Name Pentecostal, Apostolic, Non-Denominational, Interdenominational and many more. One of my core fruits of the Spirit within the church was the gift of Prophecy. Although all of these religious organizations varied, one belief they all had in common was that Jesus healed with his hands. One thing I never learned from the church was how to heal with your hands. Let me say that again…one thing I NEVER learned from any of those churches was how to heal with your hands. Now understand that most of the churches I listed are big on laying hands and prayer at the pulpit with a lot of people gathered around one person that desperately needed help. Why did it work sometimes and other times it didn’t? People would hold their hands out to heal others but that’s exactly what they did – hold their hands out. I can honestly say that the majority of the people had no idea what they were doing and still don’t. They don’t understand the energy behind it. There were only a few times I could see and feel that energy. (There was one time though that the energy was so powerful that it shot through the sky – I will tell you about that experience in another post one day. It was not inside a church, yet it was a VERY powerful spiritual ceremony in Africa.) The reason I address the laying of hands is because if you don’t understand how to lay hands to pray, it can effect the outcome. The same goes for Reiki. If you aren’t trained properly, you may not have the full effects of this Life Force Energy.
Back to Usui. I believe that Usui wondered the same thing. Why did some receive healing and others did not? What’s up with the energy used to heal? Why can one person heal and others can’t? Usui researched, studied and tried to figure out how healing can take place when people use their hands to heal. He researched and studied the pros such as Jesus and Buddha. Why did it work? How did it work? Was there something special these men did? I can only imagine the questions he had – I have had the same questions. Perhaps you have had those questions too.
I was using Source energy for healing purposes on my own. I discovered energy healing on my path when I was being forced to “Be Still”. (I think I did another post on this already.) I began experimenting with this life force energy. During my experimentations, I had a chat with a good friend of mine that manages a metaphysical shop in Texas. She chuckled when I told her what I was learning. I still remember her saying, “Energy balls? Good for you! I was playing with those when I was a kid.” Hmmm…I saw right then how far behind I was. One thing she taught me was to be careful with the energy and what to do with it once it was created. That still stays with me and encourages me to use energy with caution and for the higher good was when she told me what to do with the energy balls I was creating. She said something to the effect of after creating an energy ball, be sure to place it in a place that could use it such as my heart, a plant that needed healing, or any other location that could use healing. She cautioned me not to just toss it once it was created or it could create energy chaos. Hmmm…I never thought of that. That made total sense to me. I learned so many things the hard way but it didn’t have to be that way. Little did I know there was formal training available on energy that is not tied to any specific religion. (I had it with organized religion. They control what you learn and teach from one viewpoint only – based on the religion and I wanted no part of that any longer. I believe that we ALL have the gift of healing and it is not limited to specific people in any specific religion and was tired of being condemned for that belief.)
The beautiful part about this is that Usui did all the research for us! He studied, learned, researched and after meditation, fasting and prayer, was given specifics on just how healing with the hands could be done as a spiritual practice. Usui wanted to provide a method to achieve connection with the Universal Life Force energy that would help people in their self-development whether it be self-esteem or being healed from physical ailments and that’s exactly what he did.
“Healing Hands” is the foundation for Usui Reiki. As I stated in another blog post, there are over 1,300 different types of Reiki. The first type of Reiki I received training on was Holy Fire II. Holy Fire II is quite different than Holy Fire and Usui Reiki in the terms that the attunement process is done via distance. I never felt the attunement even though I believe it was there. I felt a little more energy flow after receiving my Holy Fire II training. I learned a lot about Reiki and the how and why. I fully intended to continue on with Master training; however, I was being blocked. Now why is that? There are several possibilities but the one that rings true for me personally was the source of the training. Holy Fire II is yet another one of the newest splits off of the traditional Usui Reiki. While it does use the Usui Reiki Symbols, it teaches that a pendulum needs to be used – or at least that’s the way it was instructed to me. This goes against the core of “Healing Hands”.
The biggest reason I now feel differently after receiving Usui Reiki training was the attunement. Holy Fire II is not done hands on which completely goes against the core philosophy of “Healing Hands”. If the “Healing Hands” are not physically being used for the attunement, is there is a chance of it not being properly placed? When I received my attunement for Usui Reiki, I FELT IT! I SAW IT! I knew it was there. To me personally, there is a huge difference! Do I feel that one is better than the other? That could spawn a debate similar to a religious debate. Not necessarily; however, I would rather go with something that I know for sure. Now that I have experienced the difference, I highly encourage Usui Reiki live in person. After that, you can always add other types of Reiki practices such as Angelic and many other types.
Usui tried the “free” healings and found they did not work as well as those with an energetic exchange. This day in time, people have nothing to trade except money. Vegas Crystal Healings & More did address the cost factor with guidance from the instructor to make it affordable for most everyone. We made it possible to receive affordable Usui Reiki training and attunement for both Level 1 and Level 2. Here are a few pictures from the Level 1 class.
Usui Reiki Level 2 is available to those that have received Level 1 with their certificate. If you would like to receive Level 2, you may do so by reserving your space here.
